7th Annual Journey in Health and Wellness
Save the date for May 19. Journey in Faith and Wellness event will take place in the Parish Hall from 1-5 p.m. Please mark your calendar to join us for an exciting day of interactive workshops. All adults are invited to attend so come dressed to move and explore and bring a friend.
This will be a charity event to benefit The Gathering Place Mission House. We have 10 professional presenters lined up this year along with a silent auction and door prizes that will be distributed throughout the afternoon. Participants may select 4 sessions to participate in and well as sample healthy snacks. All this for only $10.00. 100% of the proceeds will go to charity!

Presenters for this year will be:
Crystal Breitner – Nutritionist with the Scott County Extension Office will explain about healthy food choices and provide recipes.
Betsy Noll – Balance and Flexibility – Demonstration and participation on how to effectively exercise your body during daily routines.
Bob Ashmore and Jim Showalter – Tai Chi, martial arts participation.
Jacqueline Kinzig – Acupuncture – An alternative medicine in which thin needles are inserted into the body. Participants will actually participate in acupuncture.
Larissa Muncy – Herbal Therapy -Learn about the use of plants intended for medicinal purposes or for supplementing a diet.
Debra Coomer Rapier – Reiki – Participate in a form of alternative medicine developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui.
Amanda Adams – Chair Massage – Sample a shoulder or back massage during this session.
Georgetown Police Dept. – Self Defense – Learn how to defend yourself against unexpected attacks. Meet the Red Man!
Jane Bryant – Stress Relief – Learn how to manage your stress with healthy coping strategies.
Shannon Stricklin – Yoga – Participate in a disciplined approach to exercise.
Robin Brewer – Aromatherapy – Learn how essential oils can change your life.

The committee is still receiving items for the Silent Auction. We already have several wonderful items that include box seats for 4 at Churchill Downs, carriage driving lessons, live bouquet, hand made jewelry, hand made afghan and vintage china. If you have a basket of goodies, gift certificates to stores or restaurants or other items you would like to donate, please drop them off at the Parish Office.
