Mother Karen called to be Rector

The Vestry of the Church of the Holy Trinity is pleased to announce that The Rev. Karen Booth has accepted the call to become the church’s next Rector.

In December of 2017, Mother Karen signed a two-year Letter of Agreement to become our Priest-In-Charge and was given charge to perform the duties associated with that position: give instruction in faith and ministry, Christian stewardship, preparation for baptism and confirmation, and administrative actions that the national church requires.

After a Mutual Ministry Review between the Vestry, Mother Karen, and The Rev. Canon Elise Johnstone, Canon to the Ordinary, the Vestry voted unanimously to extend the new call of Rector. Steve DeBolt, Senior Warden, then wrote a letter to Bishop Mark Van Koevering letting him know of the vestry’s support.

By being called to the position of Rector of The Church of the Holy Trinity, Mother Karen will now have a position of tenure while maintaining the same duties.  We are joyful that Mother Karen and the parish have chosen to enter into this relationship, and we are looking forward to a long and prosperous association.

On November 10th at 5:00pm, Bishop Mark Van Koevering will join us for a special worship service where he will affirm the Vestry’s decision.

We are happy to report that Bishop Mark will also Confirm, Receive, and Reaffirm parishioners at this service as well.

Yours in Christ,
The Vestry of Holy Trinity
