Let’s Go to Kanuga!

Who wouldn’t want to spend a relaxing, spiritual weekend in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains at Kanuga in October when the leaves are changing?

Ka-nu-ga is a word borrrowed from the Cherokee and once thought to mean the meeting place of many people.  When you arrive at the Kanuga entrance something happens…. You enter a place that is much more than conferences, retreats, and camps.  Kanuga is a place where diversity finds common ground, deeper understanding, and new friends.

There are so many choices!  You can make yourself at home in one of the 43 historic cottages or relax in the newly renovated Kanuga Lake Inn.  The choice is yours and the cost is very reasonable.

All the meals are freshly prepared buffet-style meals and prepared from the local area including the herbs and vegetables grown in Kanuga’s organic garden.  Best of all, the meals are included in the nightly rate plus there is 24 hour coffee and tea service in the dining room foyer!

If the above isn’t enough, Kanuga sits on 1,400 acres of nature’s beauty that includes a 30 acre lake.  You can hike, fish, kayak, paddleboard, swim, relax in the rocking chairs or play cards in the common areas or pray and reflect in one of the 3 chapels or the prayer labyrinth.

We also have the option of ride share.  For those of you that don’t mind company on the trip to N. Carolina, we can hook you up with a fellow parishioner who would like to car pool.  Also, we could rent a van and split the cost of the rental.  There’s many options to make our retreat easy for everyone.  Please contact the office with any suggestions or concerns that you may have.
