Movie Nights

Holy Trinity will be hosting “In-Door Drive-In Night” on three Wednesday evenings during Lent!   Everyone is invited!

Please bring your comfy sack chairs and join us for dinner and a movie.  Soups, salads, and finger desserts will be served at 6:00 p.m. and the movie will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall.  A sign up sheet for the soups, salads and desserts will be on the center table at the Parish Hall. We will need two soups, two salads and two desserts for each movie night.

The first “In-Door Drive-In Night” will be held on Wednesday, March 20.  The movie showing will be “Jesus Christ, Superstar”, adapted from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Broadway rock opera, “Jesus Christ Superstar” recounts the last days of Jesus Christ (Ted Neeley) from the perspective of Judas Iscariot (Carl Anderson), his betrayer. As Jesus’ following increases, Judas begins to worry that Jesus is falling for his own hype, forgetting the principles of his teachings and growing too close to the prostitute Mary Magdalene (Yvonne Elliman). After Jesus has an outburst in a temple, Judas turns on him.

The second “In-Door Drive-In Night” will be on Wednesday, March 27.  The movie showing will be “Amazing Grace”, based on a true story.  In 18th-century England, House of Commons member William Wilberforce (Ioan Gruffudd) and his close friend and a future prime minister, William Pitt (Benedict Cumberbatch), begin a lengthy battle to abolish Great Britain’s slave trade. Though Wilberforce’s legislation is soundly defeated in 1791, his growing affection for Barbara Spooner (Romola Garai) inspires him to take up the fight once more.  This sad and stirring biopic may well change the fact that most Americans don’t know who William Wilberforce was-or how he struggled for two decades to abolish the English slave trade.

The third movie night will be held on Wednesday, April 10.  The movie is undetermined at this time. Make plans to join us for a entertaining night of food, fun and fellowship during the season of Lent.
