“Big Weekend at Holy Trinity”

This is a big weekend for the Church! “Evangelism” is the word for this Saturday and Sunday. The Church and our faith will be on display internationally and locally over a few days with several events.

First, Presiding Bishop Michael B. Curry will be preaching at the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Saturday morning. The wedding will be broadcast live at 7:00 a.m. EST to tens of millions of viewers in the United States. That means ten of millions of viewers will be treated to the beauty of our Anglican wedding liturgy and to the joy of our American presiding bishop’s faith. Think about how many people will hear about Jesus’ love for everyone! People will hear that Jesus loves those who have never had the opportunity to attend church, those who have stepped away from the church, and even those who are angry with the church. Who will be moved by the Holy Spirit? Who will have a seed planted in their heart? It’s exciting to think about all of the people who will hear the gospel preached and prayers said.

Second, on Saturday afternoon we will be hosting a special event for our community from 1:00-5:00, the Journey into Health and Wellness workshop. We will have many visitors and opportunities to invite people into the church. I hope you can be here for this event, to welcome and participate.

Third, on Sunday morning we will celebrate Pentecost, the birth of the Church, and celebrate the Holy Spirit that moved over the people. Bring a friend! This is an extra exciting Sunday. Wear red and casual; red to celebrate Pentecost and casual because we are having a picnic afterwards! The youth of the church will be leading us in the service and we will be acknowledging all of teachers and youth leaders who have served this year.

Thank you for all that you do as evangelists and disciples! Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.
